BREAKTHROUGH "THREE-IN-ONE"
PRESSURE INSTRUMENT
FILLS GAP IN ULTRA HIGH-PURITY APPLICATIONS

Watertown, MA - The Precision Sensors Division of United Electric Controls introduces a new concept in pressure monitoring and control of critical interlock functions. The new staset® solid-state pressure switch offers the safety and simplicity of a switch, the output of a transducer and the convenience of a gage in a single, compact package. Solid-state technology enables staset® to provide superior accuracy and repeatability when compared to traditional switches, while a local display and status LED facilitate installation, calibration and trouble shooting. Staset's® ultra high purity construction makes it ideal for applications such as semiconductor fabrication equipment and gas delivery systems. Best of all, staset® is about half the cost of equivalent high purity, indicating pressure transducers.

Until now, instrument engineers at equipment OEMs and end-users have been forced to choose between extremes by using either a non-indicating, mechanical pressure switch or a higher-cost electronic pressure transducer to monitor and control important threshold pressures. Now there is a complete solution - staset®. Simple and full-featured, staset® utilizes proven solid-state pressure sensing technology to provide an improved switch with longer life and greater accuracy. In addition to the switch output, staset® is available with a 0-5 VDC analog process signal. A local status LED provides indication of the switch output while a LCD display enables continuous monitoring of the process variable. Other advantages of staset® include reduced space requirements, reduced internal volume and fewer potential leak paths due to a reduced number of intrusions into the process.

Staset® is UL recognized for added safety. The switch output is fail-safe upon loss of power. Set point and deadband are factory-set, for true tamper-proof operation. The switch output can be set to trip from 8 Torr to 100 psig, while the deadband can be set up to 98% of the range. Measurement ranges from 760 Torr to 100 psig are available. Available process connections include both male end-seal (9/16-18 thread) and flush-mount (SEMI spec 2787.1 or 2787.2) versions. Both types of connections are fabricated from VAR (Vacuum Arc Re-melt) 316L SCQ stainless steel. Wetted surfaces are electropolished to a 5 Ra finish.

The Precision Sensors Division of United Electric Controls is a leader in the development and manufacture of pressure, vacuum and flow instrumentation for the semiconductor industry. United Electric Controls, based in Watertown, MA, provides solutions for pressure and temperature Threshold Detection and Switching™ for OEMs and the process industries.
